Hurricane Bob formed near the Central Bahamas on August 16th 1991 and steadily intensified. Bob
reached hurricane status on August 17th and continued to intensify as it started to move North
then north - northeastward and paralleling the East coast of the U.S. Bob battered the New England
coast and caused considerable damage to areas of New England. Peak wind gusts were reported to 125 mph
at Cape Cod. There was alot of beach erosion and boat damage was heavy with Bob. rainfall amounts
ranged from 1 inch up to 7 inches in Rhode island. Bob caused 1.5 billion dollars in damage.
